Kaca mesin fotocopy harus selalu dalam kondisi bersih dan bebas debu. Apabila ada kotoran yang menempel pada kacanya maka akan menimbulkan bintik pada hasil copy atau bisa juga menimbulkan garis pada hasil copy. Oleh karena itu, kaca mesin fotocopy harus selalu bersih agar hasilnya jernih.

Cara membersihkan kaca mesin fotocopy ini sangat mudah. Bisa dengan cara menggunakan tissue basah kemudian dilap dengan tissue kering. Atau bisa bisa juga dengan menggunakan kain yang halus agar kacanya tidak baret.

Sedangkan bila terdapat debu di dalam scanner, maka harus dibuka dahulu kacanya. Caranya harus dilepaskan dulu skrup de sekeliling kaca. Lalu diangkat kacanya kemudian dilap bagian dalam kacanya beseeta bagian scanner.
